October 2017 on 35mm
These pics were taken when I went to see Sigur Rós at the end of September but they ended up on the same roll of film that started October off so I thought I'd just add it in to this post. I remember we were getting drinks before the gig and Fi ordered a blue WKD which I found hilarious because I don't think either of us have had one in years.
Cut to possibly (probably) the cutest couple I know, these were taken after going for dinner(?) with Jay and ending back at Sean's flat for chill hang out time. We then proceeded to google how to get a tea stain out of a rug and Sean and I were in hysterics at watching Jay rub salt in to the carpet. She is special and we love her.
Regular views on my walk home from work and Sarah moaning at me to not take photos of her - on our way to Edinburgh for the John Akomfrah preview.
Home is where the dogs are.
Blurry photos of the morning of my birthday - I had an allergic reaction and my eyes were swollen and my lip was starting to look gross - despite feeling like crap I had a really good birthday/weekend and waking up to the pups definitely made it better.
Then we move on to the birthday drinks, as the photos go on you can tell we get progressively more drunk before heading out to Berkeley Suite to dance. Seeing most of my friends together definitely made my birthday special - company is always the best present you can give someone.
At one point during the evening there was a group at another table who started singing Happy Birthday so of course the wonderful Mark, whose finger is in my nose in this pic, stands me up and marches me over to meet my "birthday twin" - turns out he was actually Karlie's birthday twin so Mark and I quickly backed off and abandoned Karlie to chat to him haha!
Mark's quote of the night "I'm buggered!"
The worst part of my night? Losing the gift Fi gave me - a flag she'd made last year at uni with the words goodbye on it - really gutted about that...
Kelly with MacDonald's on the train home after seeing Manchester Orchestra.
My new studio space all set up and ready to go - updates on what I'm doing are sure to follow!
Facetime with Jay because you have to fit in time with your favourite people any way you can!
Karlie came round to give me my birthday present a few days after my birthday when I was unwell, look at that cutie!
My mum and the dogs on the first night in new house.
And to conclude the month of October we have my Papa's face, we had a cute little day date where we bonded over Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattes and chatted American Football, tv, music, film, his recent holiday to the Caribbean and everything and nothing in between.
Admittedly my birthday is the bulk of the photos from this month but there's something so satisfying and surprising about taking a film camera on a night out - you never know what the results are going to be - mainly because you can't really remember what photos got taken! So getting these developed really put a smile on my face!
Tune in next month to see what I get up to in November!
