December 2017 on 35mm
The main event for December was the "work" night out with my friends, of whom none of us actually work together. This consisted of dressing up fancy and heading to Chinaski's for drinks before walking through the freezing cold to Cosmopol - the karaoke bar.
My brother and his girlfriend, and their friend Josh, just so happened to be in Glasgow for a gig and they came along to the karaoke bar after their gig finished which made the night so much more hilarious. Add our other friend Mark, who had been on a different night out and a couple of more additions of Em and Maxime and it felt like we had almost taken over the bar completely.
Karlie's got her dancing shoes on!
I am not one for karaoke, only having done it once with my old boss so I sneakily managed to get out of singing - but it was so much fun to see my friends get up and sing. I was even shocked to hear them actually sing well! Sorry for the lack of faith guys!
December also saw Fi and me go see 2 films at GFT back to back - Jane, and Ai Wei Wei's Human Flow both of which were really great.
Up next was Karlie's Christmas Dinner. Look at how happy she is as wee elf cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
She surprised Kelly and I with gifts which we were completely unprepared for. Knowing my love for Tom Hanks she had gotten me his book of short fictional stories to get me reading again and so far it's pretty good - it's like being read stories by Tom Hanks himself because I kind of can't help but read it in his voice!
Oh and I got my hair cut!
Then it was back home for the holidays after quitting my job and deciding to move back home.
We spent Christmas Eve at the beach with the dogs which was super chill and nice - despite the cold wind that had me wearing many many layers!
Then it was Christmas Day spent with my Mum's side of the family. The highlight was definitely my mum's pavlova for dessert and the pub quiz which we teamed up in twos to play. My cousin and I failing miserably with our poor lack of general knowledge!
Boxing Day was spent with my dad and his side of the family, and my brother and his girlfriend drove down from Aberdeen to spend a few days with us.
And that pretty much sums up the month of December. A lot of time just chilling with family as you are meant to do at this time of year, and a few walks here and there with the dogs.
I hope you all had a really nice festive period and got the down time we all need at this time of year.
Love,
Melissa x
