Goals for 2020

Hello! It's been a long time, I know.

I can't promise as regular posts as before but one of my goals for this year is to bring the blog back from the dead, because I love writing and I miss it so here we are, writing the first post of this decade.

Does anyone else find it terrifying to think back to ten years ago and remember exactly what you were doing in life and who your friends were and what your biggest worries were. It's crazy how life is both long and so so short.

Fifteen year old me had her head half shaved, had two lip piercings, big stretched ears and used to go to underage house parties and drink 2 litre bottles of cider like it was apple juice. I had a reputation for vomiting and I had my first real boyfriend that year.

Ten years on and okay, there's a different part of my head shaved, I've finished a degree at university, got a management job in retail and barely ever drink, and I'm in my second relationship with a guy going two years strong.

Crazy how so much has changed and yet not really so much at all.

To break us in nice and gently I thought I would cover what my goals are for this year so I can look back on this post and see if I managed them all come a year's time. So here we go:

1. Stop biting my nails - this has been a lifelong issue and I have had stints where I've managed to stop biting them for a while, but this year I really want to break the habit and have nice nails that I can get manicured.

2. Read 26 books - last year I did the 26 books in 52 weeks challenge led by @ciarajalberts on instagram. It's a book club in the format of a shared spreadsheet, very chilled but keeps you motivated with loads of book recommendations if you get stuck on what to read. Last year I managed 20 books so I need to read an extra 6 this year!

3. Pass my driving test - this I can cross off already as I literally just passed my test today! 25 hours of lessons in 4 months and I passed with 3 minors. Thank God.

4. Write more blog posts - whether its art, life updates, book reviews, anything. I just want to write this year.

5. Add to my tattoo collection - I have 2 lined up for this year already which is very exciting, I just want to make my legs a bit fuller and maybe get an old one fixed up this year!

6. Travel - this can be road trips, city breaks, an actual holiday, whatever! Just travel and see a bit more of this beautiful world!

7. Get healthier - Probably the single resolution or goal that's on most people's lists this time of year. I want to see myself get a bit healthier, a bit more confident, and a bit more comfortable in my own skin.

And that rounds up this year's goals. All very achievable if I put the work in, and one already achieved!

What are your goals for this year? Any the same as mine? What do you want to see my write about this year?
